a few week ago we started to think about getting our attic ready for a remodel. structural engineers, architects and friends weigh in on the options. after a bit time we decided to maybe look for a bigger house. house hunting is fun and all but when you have put years of small projects and a couple of larger projects into your own house the house we were seeing didn't speak to us. it was one thing or another, too small, not enough style or just plain ugly. one day after seeing a house on monroe we were walking back with our realtor/friend and she said that this lady had talked to her some time ago about selling her house, and the house is two blocks from ours. we did a casual walk by and didn't really care for the house at first. so now a week has past us by and we get a call and we find out that the lady does want to sell her house but only to the right people. we schedule an appt. to see her house and the moment we walked in we felt at home. it had everything we wanted, plus it had style. to make a long story short, we decide it was the house for us and we worked out a deal with her so we could sell our house this summer and be in her house by august 1st. here is the kicker, we had to get our house on the market in 6 days. we have lived here for a long time and we have a lot of stuff. somehow we managed to get everything out into a pod, paint all the trim, consolidate down to the bare minimums to live, tile a floor, put a new counter top in the kitchen and many more little projects . our house sits proudly as the cutest house on the block for a great price.
oh ya, i went surfing with colin on saturday. of all the places we went to shorties and had a great session. small but good, i needed something other than packing boxes and humping them up and down the stairs. snagged some good rides, right and lefts on the hangnail. i asked colin if he wanted to take it for a spin he said sure. colin is a good 50lbs lighter than me so it had no problems floating him or getting him in to waves. his first wave he went right on his backhand and flew down the line with amazing speed. he kicked out with a smile on his face and said to me " i need to get one of these". it made me feel good to know that i'm not the only one that likes to ride my boards. colin is going to get a hangnail 5'10" as soon as we get into our new house and i get my shaping and lamination rooms together
