mark h. came over to check out my board and asked if i had taken any photos of my board. he was right on, the light was good and he thinks the board looks good as well. only a month until the hangnail gets some warm water splashed on it! viva el salvador
the hangnail is done at last. this board has tested me at many different levels. the fabric inlay, the wing, the round pin, all of these aspects of board building will test you nerves. lets just say it increases the margin of error. there are only a couple of minor things that i would do differently, but for the most part i'm very happy with the overall look of the board. tomorrow will be the true test.......4'@16sec sounds like a good testing platform. i haven't surfed in months now and i'm happy to have some smaller conditions to for the maiden surf! wish me luck and hopefully i will have a good report tomorrow. the first photo is the best, as the day and weeks go on, my work area gets more and more clustered. pretty classic!
i have been dealing with a bad back lately and acupuncture is working well. a life time of being a skateboarder, snowboarder and surfer has taken it's toll on my body. if i had a dollar for every flat landing i have taken i would be a rich man. the combination of swim laps in the pool and getting regular treatments has me feeling more like myself. it was kind of funny the day i started to research a surf trip my back flipped out on me. i think it help knowing i had to get better by a certain date in order to fallow my quest for my first barrel. i leave may 1st with joh to el salvador. el salvador is the land of fast right hand point breaks. with a little luck and growing some cojones i will have a good chance to get a tube, maybe several. at the least i will surf some of the best point breaks in the world!
